Mr. Pennell's grade 6 class earned the Read to Succeed Award from Achieve 3000. Achieve 3000 is a program where students receive differentiated instruction according to their reading capabilities. Mr. Pennell's class goal is for each student to complete five articles a week, earning a 75% or higher on their assessments. Students have the opportunity to read non-fiction text and practice their reading comprehension skills and also write in response to their reading. Achieve 3000 recognized Mr. Pennell's class for their accomplishment of receiving a 75% or higher on their assignments in a specific time period. Achieve 3000 tracked how many assignments the class completed and for each completed assignment, the class accumulated points. Our students are continually working hard to achieve success, and we are so proud of them.

The Student Council at Katherine Thomas Elementary will be heading up a fundraiser called Pennies for Patients, beginning Monday, January 9th and running through Friday, January 27th.  We are collecting loose change and donating all of the money to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Each student will receive a small collection box to bring home.  We ask that you help your child bring the collected money back to school to give to their teacher.  There is also a website link if you'd like to donate and help our cause!  We are excited to teach our students that they can make a change.  Because of our efforts, we hope to help blood cancer patients live better, longer lives.  If you'd like to donate online, please click here.  Thank you in advance! #windhamfamily

The Ohio's State Board of Education has granted Windham High School the 2016 Momentum Award. The Momentum Award recognizes schools who have received A's on every value-added measure included on the 2016 Ohio School Report Card. The report card indicated that the pupils at Windham High School made greater than expected progress in reading and mathematics....

A Household Survey was recently sent home to all families. This information is vital to the programs that we offer at Windham. This information allows us to receive money from the state of Ohio. Without this information our funding is cut. Please complete the survey and return it to Crystal Hickman. Thank you so much for your help!!

Help us raise money for our schools!  The Junior and Senior High is participating in the Tyson Project A+™ program, a fund-raising program sponsored by Tyson Foods, Inc. Through this program, we can raise a significant amount of money for our schools! It’s an easy way to raise much needed funds by sending Tyson Project A+ labels from products you probably already buy.

Here’s how it works: Just clip and collect Tyson Project A+ labels from participating Tyson® product packages and send them to school with your child. We’ll collect the labels for the remainder of this school year, and it will continue into next year. We will send the labels to Tyson Foods, and Tyson Foods will send our school a check. Each label is worth 24¢!

If you have any questions about the program, call Kathy Gutherie in the Junior High Office. You can also find details online- Click Here!

We hope you’ll join us in collecting Tyson Project A+ labels and spread the word to your friends and relatives. It’s such an easy way to raise funds for our schools! Thanks for your support and all that you do for our schools. #windhamfamily
