Windham is a village in Windham, Ohio in Portage County. It is formed with parts of Windham Township and has a population of about 2,000 people. In 1942, Windham was chosen as a site for an army camp for workers at the Ravenna Aresnal, which is over 21,000 acres. During World War II, the Aresenal employed over 14,000 employees. Since Windham housed many of the employees and families, the area experienced a historical population boom during the 1950s.

The district is made up of two buildings: Katherine Thomas Elementary (Grades PreK-5) and Windham Junior and Senior School (Grades 6-12). The district is led by Superintendent  Aireane Curtis. The mascot for the district is the Bomber Airplane ("Bombers" is the district's nickname), which directly coorelates to the rich military history.

The elementary school has a student population of about 230 students and is under the leadership of Melissa Malone. The school has a strong partnership with Youngstown State University where a balanced literacy program and math program was created and is continuing to grow as the years progress. The University provides ongoing professional development for the staff. The PTA known as the BFO (Bomber Family Organization) is extremely active at the school, both in and out of the classrooms.

The high school houses about 250 students under the guidance of Principal Marco Marinucci. The Junior/Senior High offers many sports for students to participate in. Fall sports include: football, cheerleading, golf, and girls' volleyball. In the winter, the school offers girls' and boys' basketball. During the spring season, students can participate in track, softball, or baseball. Windham is a part of the Northeastern Athletic Conference (NAC) along with: Kinsman Badger, Orwell Grand Valley, Cortland Maplewood, Vienna Mathews, and Andover Pymatuning Valley.

Other than athletics, there are numerous other academic clubs/societies students can participate in during their middle and high school years at Windham. Band and Choir are offered for those interested in being a part of the Fine and Performing Arts.  National Honor Society is also available to middle and high school who carry a 3.2 grade point average and display the pillars of the society: Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. Student Council, Spanish Club, Art Club, Drama Club, and History Club are other clubs students have the opportunity to join.
